WORKPLACE CONDUCT & GENDER SENSITIZATION
Programme Overview
Gender sensitivity is not a 'women's issue' - it is a people issue and a business imperative. When people understand gender dynamics, challenge stereotypes, and communicate respectfully across difference, workplaces become more innovative, more equitable, and more productive. This programme creates the awareness and practical tools to make that happen - at every level of the organisation, in every daily interaction.
Course Content
Module 1: Gender Dynamics & Social Constructs (1.5 Hours)
- Understanding gender as a social construct and distinguishing it from biological sex
- Recognising how gender stereotypes constrain both individuals and organisational performance
- Gender spectrum: understanding identities and expressions
Module 2: Identifying Everyday Bias (1.5 Hours)
- Identifying gender bias in everyday workplace interactions, assignments, and decisions
- The professional spillover of domestic roles and responsibilities
- Unconscious assumptions about capability and ambition
Module 3: Inclusive Communication & Intervention (2.5 Hours)
- Communicating inclusively using language that respects all gender identities
- Responding appropriately to gender-based microaggressions as a target, bystander, or unintentional perpetrator
- Challenging exclusionary conversations (e.g., the 'locker-room' talk) safely and constructively
- Using positional power to advocate for equity (e.g., speaking up for diversity on project panels)
Module 4: Practical Action Planning (0.5 Hours)
- Personal reflection on bias and individual commitments
- Adopting team agreements for gender-sensitive communication
- Resources for further learning and community contribution

Sanya Talwar(LL.B. Hons.) is a legal professional with over a decade of experience in litigation, workplace compliance, and gender justice. She has appeared before the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, and other judicial forums, and serves as an Independent POSH Consultant, External ICC Member, and empanelled Legal Counsellor with the Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA). She has delivered 100+ POSH training sessions, conducted 31+ workplace inquiries and investigations, contributed to UN Women-vetted Skill India gender modules, and continues to support leading organizations and Government of India entities in workplace ethics, compliance, and legal awareness.
